Is It An EVP? 

Oftentimes there is confusion with what constitutes an EVP. The term EVP is translated as Electronic Voice Phenomenon. This means that a voice or sound is heard on the recording AFTER the event has happened during playback. The voice or sound is not heard at the time of the recording. When playing the recording back, the message can be heard.

When a ghost hunter catches an odd noise or voice on the DVR that was heard during the investigation, that is simply evidence to back up the experience. That is NOT an EVP.

One very good example can be listened to here. This is a couple of our investigators walking through a restaurant and coming upon an unexplained sound of music. Upon further investigation, there was nothing in the location to make the sounds that are heard.  When discussed with the owners of the restaurant, no one could explain where the music came from.

The Most Amazing EVP This Investigator Has Ever Experienced

This recording was brought to our church by a revival group when I was about 14 years old. The story is that their group was getting ready for a service and decided to have a prayer and then warm up by singing this song. There were 7 people in this group. As they sang a man came in and was enjoying it so he decided to start his tape recorder early to get some of their warm up. When the tape was played back they were stunned to find millions of voices singing at pitches too high for a human. The voices never take a break for air and the horn you hear is said to be a ram's horn. A little while into the recording you will hear a man begin singing a solo. This man was NOT present. Remember when you listen to this that there were a total of 7 singers present and none sang solo. This clip will stick with you as it has me for 20+ years. Later, when you remember the clip you will hear the voices of those angels still in your head. The beauty of this piece cannot be put into words. Whenever I feel extremely stressed, I close my eyes and remember those angels singing and I am instantly soothed.  This original tape was on a cassette which the revival group provided to us free of charge. All they asked is that we bring our own blank tape because the entire church wanted a copy.  The quality isn't up to our digital standards but you won't be disappointed. It is commonly believed that human spirits and demons can appear on digital voice recordings. Is it any less possible that the sounds of God's beautiful angels couldn't be caught praising Him? Enjoy!
